Module 1

During Module 1 and 2 I experimented continously with circuits in many ways.

Activity 1

In order to make very basic circuits I spent a lot of time experimenting with series, parallel, and simple circuits using copper tape. Aside from the copper tape I had a lot of success creating simple circuits with conductive fabric. I thought this was incredibly cool. This circuit was made with alligator clips and conductive thread so that the conductive thread would not touch conductive wire too quickly. There were a lot of failed circuits in the process of remembering how to construct them and learning how to best utilize the copper tape. I sewed a pattern into this piece of felt with conductive thread but it ultimately did not work, not helped by the fact I forgot to sew a light in. This photo shows the state of my work environment trying to get these circuits working with a variety of materials. Activity 2

This sketch shows my rough idea of how I would make a circuit with a plate and mug, like a teaset. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. I need to wear gloves a lot in the winter to protect my hands and I was thinking that including a flashlight tipped finger would make them even more practical. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. I was thinking of making a sketch book that would light up as you used either a lot of grpahite pencil or connductive paint but I didn't end up loving this idea. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. This is the plate and cup I was thinking of using for that previous cup idea. This is the plate and cup I was thinking of using for that previous cup idea. This sketch is my first pass on my watering can idea that I go on to enjoy constructing so much. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. In this sketch I consider how I would involve my glasses in this circuit project. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. In this sketch I consider how I would involve my hair clips in this circuit project. This paragraph shows all my initial ideas written out for my own ease of use by being able to see them as I work. These are my favourite hair clips, I always wear them when I wear a bandana out of my house so that it stays on all day. I consider these one of my staple accessories and so I wanted to think about how I could include them. These are my glasses that I wear every day, I find them annoying because prior to recent health issues I primarily wore contacts so I thought it would be fun to maybe make them more fun with circuits. By far my most expanded upon idea is my watering can one, I believe because while I do like it I also just really wanted to solve how I would construct this. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. These are the bracelets I wear every single day, I pretty much never take them off so I thought it would be fun to work with them. This is my low spouted watering can, I think it would be nice to make a circuit that shows when the water is going in the right spot because it is meant to work in small spaces. Inspired by the bracelets I wear every single day I thought about making them light up when they touch in a certain way inspired by the way small children have light up shoes. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit. This sketch is me working out how I would actually construct this circuit.
